These video tutorials match the skills taught in the classroom. Each segment below corresponds to the gradesheet provided to the students.

A. Overview
This video is what you will create after you complete each of the steps in the "Motion" segment of this tutorial notice how there is no audio. (video) (You Tube)

Training:
Step #1: Import Files From "RLS Multimedia" Server

Step #2: Creating A New "Motion" Project.
  • 2a. An explanation of how to set up a new "Motion" project with the correct specifications. (video) (You Tube)
    Note: This tutorial will show you how to switch the color of the background canvas from Black to White…BUT, the color will not change on the canvas you are viewing. It will appear on all future Project canvases! So quit and open a new project and now the new canvas will be the new color you selected.
Step #3: Set Up Project Viewer

Step #4: Import Files (Group #1) - Lining Up The Timeline!

  • 4d. Show how to adjust the file layer size on the Timeline. Explain Snapping. Show how to Zoom In & Zoom Out and "I" in order to line up the images on a layer. (video) (You Tube)
Step #5: Transform Image Size

Step #6: Add Motion!!
  • 6a. Learn how to add the "Basic Motion/Move" Behavior to have the cars move in a general direction.(video) (You Tube)
    • "Move" allows an object to move in one straight line.
Step #7: Add Size Change
  • 7a. Learn how to have an image get bigger as it comes nearer, or smaller as it gets further away. (video) (You Tube)
    • Call up HUD!
Step #8:Create New Group #2 - Lining Up The Timeline!

    • This lesson repeats: Import, Transform Scale of object, Zoom In/Zoom Out and "I" to line up the timeline.

Step #9: Add Motion Path!! (Basic Motion/Motion Path)

    • "Motion Path" allows you to have an object move in any direction.

You Have Two Options When Adding Music to Your Animation:
1. Add Audio Using Final Cut Pro!
(This is what I recommend - easier and more options). Follow Steps #14 - #17 below.
2. Add Audio Directly Into Motion
. Skip #14 - #17 and instead follow "Or Import Music Directly To Motion."
