Rotoava Islands Resort

Accommodations

Guests have the option of staying on their own private island, or on the main island in an overwater bungalow. Rotoava Islands Resort owns five private islands within the vicinity of each other that are listed below.

Toau Island is our lagest private island. A short five minute boat ride from the main island, Toau has some of the best snorkeling and beaches in the area. There is one home on Toau, with three cottages in the surrounding area. The home can sleep twelve with five bedrooms. The main house also has a plunge pool, hot tub, chef's kitchen, outdoor shower, and tennis court. The dining room has enough seating for thirty-five people. Each bungalow has two bathrooms and four bedrooms, sleeping eight.

Fakarava Island is our most remote and smallest island. A moderate thirty minute boat ride from the main island, Fakarava has very diverse marine life. Just offshore is a common place to see stingrays. Also in the area are smaller islands that are fun to explore with the outrigger canoe that comes with the island. There are ten small islands within a one mile radius. There are several cottages on Fakarava. One cottage is devoted especially as a kitchen. Another cottage is used as a living room and dining room. The third cottage consists of four bedrooms, sleeping twelve. If you desire to have more people stay on the island people are free to sleep in the living room, or we can set up hammocks on the outdoor living area. Included is a dock, outrigger canoe, snorkle gear, and outdoor shower.

Tahanea Island is right off the main island, you could swim there. A medium sized island, we have built one large home on it. There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The house sleeps twelve. This house is perfect if you're traveling with a large group as they can stay in the bungalows a few hundred yards away on the main island. Included on this island is a dock, outdoor shower, and hiking trails.

Katiu Island is isolated from the mainland, but very close to Fakarava Island. It is our second largest island, and exhibits an almost perfectly round shape. The island was designed for very large groups, so it includes four king bed suite-cottages dispersed throughout the island. There are also two larger cottages with six twin beds in each where children can sleep. There is a very large outdoor patio where people commonly sleep in hammocks. There are four bedrooms and four bathrooms. The dining room, living room, and kitchen have all been set up on the southside of the island. Katiu Island has the most beautiful beaches of any island we offer. Included on this island is a dock, outdoor shower, and speed boat.

Makemo Island is the second smallest island, but definitely most beautiful. The island is right next to one of the most highly praised, but rarely visited dive sites in French Polynesia. There are only two cottages on the island, each with a bathroom and two queen beds. The kitchen is part of an outdoor setup, beneath an overhang that can be closed off in case of a storm. Included on this island is a dock, outdoor shower, and scuba gear.
